I went to HTML Day at Verdun Beach, even though I hate going to the south-west. I have too many enemies there. Whenever I get off the metro, I pull down on the brim of my hat to obscure my face. But at the same time, I'm looking around with worry, peering at every face near and far, perversely hoping.
At the beach, I wandered around in circles for a while, sat on a bench and checked the co-ordinates. The people at the location were grilling, a family, minding their own business. I wasn't sure what to expect but it wasn't them.
Eventually, on my second tour, Morgan gave me a subtle head-nod and I judged that the three people in the grass must be the local representitives of HTML Energy. I joined the circle and introduced myself. Morgan had a label-maker and was printing out HTML elements as tickets. Fatin is a photographer and referred to some printed sheets of paper. Vincent let me hit his weed vape.
All in all, a pleasant afternoon meeting some interesting people in the park. We decided that next year we would go institutional and have HTML Day at the Museum of Fine Arts.
